Cassia / Cinnamon Star Anise Pepper Turmeric Fennel Seeds Coconut Desiccated Cassia/Cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia) from Vietnam is mostly harvested in Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Quang Nam province. Total area of cinnamon cultivation is more than 150,000 ha. The annual quantity is 30000 tons and 90% of total production fresh cinnamon is from Yen Bai located in the North mountain areas of Vietnam. Star Anise (Illicium verum) is the seed pod from the fruit of the Illicium verum plant, an evergreen shrub native to North of Vietnam (Lang Son Province). The star anise pod, which is shaped like a star (hence its name), has an average of eight points, each containing a single pea-sized seed. Both the seeds and the pod are used in cooking and contain the sweet, potent anise flavor.
